Falk Quick Facts

Some quick facts about Falk Copper Cookware:

  • Made in Wespelaar, Belgium for more than 30 years.
  • All of our pans are 2.5mm in thickness (unless otherwise noted) and constructed of a molecularly bonded layer of solid red copper measuring 2.3mm and an interior layer of 18/10 stainless steel measuring .2mm (.008"), hence the 2.5mm Falk Bimetal. The cast iron handle is mounted to the pan using 3mm stainless steel rivets.
  • Falk Copper Cookware pieces use approximate volumes that are generally rounded to the nearest .5 qt. using a formula based on the circumference and height of the pan per industry standards.  Weights are also approximate and are given to provide an indication of the pan's heft.  Pricing is not based on weight.
  • Falk has a brushed finish, not shiny. It is no more difficult to make shiny copper than brushed, we just think it is more sensible.
  • All copper tarnishes and discolors, especially when exposed to heat. The stainless interiors will also discolor under certain conditions. We recommend Barkeepers Friend with the "heavy duty" green Scotch Brite pads to clean both the copper and stainless lining.
  • Most, if not all, stainless-lined copper cookware, sold anywhere, is made using Falk Bimetal.
  • No other cookware conducts heat more efficiently or evenly than Falk Copper Cookware.
  • Falk copper cookware is GREEN. Well, not physically, but because it is so thermally efficient, it helps save the environment (uses less energy).
  • Falk is sold in the USA exclusively at COPPERPANS.COM  We now have a distributor for orders in CANADA.
  • Yes, Iron Chef Symon uses Falk on his popular cooking show and in his home as do many other popular chefs, celebrities and thousands of fantastic home chefs.
  • Solid copper cookware is very heavy, on the order of what you might expect with cast iron cookware.
  • Falk can be used in any home or commercial oven and on any cooking surface. Induction hobs require an interface plate made from a ferrous metal.
  • Copper cookware should never be put in a dishwasher. Wash by hand and dry thoroughly.
  • Salt pits all stainless steel. Do not leave salty solutions in your pan for extended periods. Add salt to pasta water as it comes to a boil. Salt crystals left in contact with the stainless in the presence of moisture will pit it. Also, acidic foods should never be left in the pans for extended periods. Never store food overnight in your pans!
  • Falk Copper Cookware will not make you a better cook, though you may enjoy cooking more and become a better cook.
  • Your coolness factor will grow exponentially and people may think you cook better than you do, when you own Falk. This has not been confirmed by independent labs, however.
